On February 23rd, five Rotary Clubs in across the peninsula joined together for a social event at 1700 Brewing, a local craft brewery in Newport News. The event began at 5:30 pm concluded at approximately 9:00 pm.
The participating Rotary Clubs were the Rotary Club of Newport News, Oyster Point, Warwick at City Center, Virginia Peninsula, and Yorktown. The event provided an opportunity for members of these clubs to meet each other, network, and strengthen their bonds of fellowship.
“We were thrilled to be partnering with 1700 Brewing for this event,” said Jimmy Fay, the Social Chair of Oyster Point. “It’s a great opportunity for our members to get together and enjoy some fantastic local beer while also supporting a local business.”
During the event, attendees had the opportunity to try a variety of beers from 1700 Brewing, including their signature brews and seasonal offerings. Additionally, attendees enjoyed fresh pizza from Flaming Pie, a local food truck that was on site for the evening.
This event is just one of many initiatives that Rotary Clubs around our community coordinate to support the local community. Through fundraising efforts and volunteer work, these clubs are dedicated to making a positive impact in their neighborhoods.
“We are always looking for ways to give back to our community,” said Tim Ryan, President of the Rotary Club of Newport News. “We were proud to be a part of this event and grateful for the opportunity to join together with our fellow Rotary Clubs.”
