On Tuesday, August 30, 2016, Karen Wilds hosted Sheriff Gabriel Morgan, Sr., Sheriff of the City of Newport News. Sheriff Morgan has served as Sheriff for over 10 years with a staff of over 220 people and a $15 million budget. The department’s duties include the custody and care of more than 500 inmates daily, the protection of our courts and judges, the service of court documents and the enforcement of the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Thank you, Sheriff Morgan for sharing your story of how you became Sheriff, projects and initiatives you and your department are currently working on, as well as thought-provoking ideas around the value of inmate re-education. (pictured l-r: Flora Chioros, Sheriff Morgan, Karen Wilds)
